PROGRAM

Day 1 – Saturday 23 November

Arrival at Entebbe. Transport from the airport to the accommodation in Entebbe / Kampala. Today there is time to acclimatize or do local shopping. The bicycles will stay packed from the plane for transport to the starting location the next day.

Day 2 – Sunday 24 November

Drive from Kampala to the start of the Kintu Trial in West Uganda (Fort Portal). An early arrival (before 10 am) may still be possible at Entebbe. The bicycles are unpacked on arrival and there is a mini prologue to test your equipment.

Day 3 – Monday 25 November

First day of the Kintu trial. ~ 100KM near Fort Portal and past countless crater lakes with final finish at Lake Nyamiteza.

Day 4 – Tuesday 26 November

Second day of the Kintu Trial. ~ 100KM from Lake Nyamiteza to Queen Elizabeth National Park with overnight stay in Queen Elizabeth NP. On the way a long climb over the foothills of the Rwenzori mountains.

Day 5 – Wednesday 27 November

Third day of the Kintu Trial. ~ 110KM through Queen Elizabeth National Park towards Ishasha. The first 50KM will be neutralized and cycled together due to safety from wild animals (guaranteed to spot elephants). After a short boat trip on the Kazinga channel, another 60KM will follow through the QE national park with your own team, with an overnight stay at the border of the park.

Day 6 – Thursday 28 November

Fourth day of the Kintu Trial. ~ 90KM towards the hills of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with many climbs. Overnight in Ruhija.

Day 7 – Friday 29 November

Fifth day of the Kintu Trial. ~ 75KM from the Bwindi Impenetrable NP to lake Mutanda. Overnight at the edge of the lake with a magnificent view over the volcanoes in Congo and Rwanda with a festive closing in the evening.

Day 8 – Saturday 30 November

Transportation from lake Mutanda back to Entebbe. A late (midnight) flight from Entebbe home is possible (departure after 11 pm). An alternative is private transport from lake Mutanda to Kigali (Rwanda) for a flight home.

Day 9 – Sunday 1 December

Departure from Entebbe back home, or alternative own program.
